Nadia Mercado, Graphic Designer
Hey Fashionistas!
Im here with another Broke Girl Feature! Yay! Nadia Mercado and I met in college when she joined the Bronco Cheer Squad. Nadia, Caitlin (see previous feature here) and I instantly clicked. At one point we were in a stunt group together and there's nothing more intimate than trusting your bestie with your life. Literally. They had to carry my burrito eating butt! Moving on...Nadia influences my style from her effortless garbs to her grungy rocker outfits. She is also a great directory when it comes to finding a taco truck in LA. The girl knows where to get them! Anyway, I am so ecstatic to show you the photos we took in her hometown of Monrovia. A pointless FYI: I did this with 10% battery power...because I'm crazy & forgot to charge my camera battery. Following the photos is her interview:

TBGF: Tailored and tight or loungey and loose?
Nadia: Loungey and loose without a doubt!
TBGF: Favorite print?
Nadia: Stripes. It's been said that bigger girls shouldn't wear stripes because it will make them look "fatter"; but I say go for it! It's your style, your look and you just shouldn't give a damn.
TBGF: Favorite piece from your winter wardrobe.
Nadia: Since it doesn't get too cold in southern California I don't have too many winter items so I'm probably going to say my black pleather jacket. It pretty much goes with anything and you could dress it up or down.
TBGF: Describe your style.
Nadia: Modern Comfy.
TBGF: Tacos or burritos? (and favorite place to get them)
Nadia: Tacos, They're one of my favorite foods...ever! You can't go wrong with any taco truck in LA.
TBGF: Favorite brand or place to shop?
Nadia: Top 3 stores I shop at are GAP, Urban Outfitters, and Zara, BUT I only shop sale. Ya girl wants to get as much as possible for as little as possible.
TBGF: What's the most inexpensive piece of fashion you've bought but use the most? (For any season)
Nadia: I bought a pair of Steve Madden booties about 3 years ago. Original price was $130 and I bought them for $15. I pretty much wore them everyday for 2 years straight. I only wear them to work now since they're kind of beat up.
TBGF: Who/what are your inspirations?
Nadia: I attend a lot of concerts and shows so I get a lot of inspiration from music and my fellow concert goers. And sometimes a turn to my friends for some fashion advice.
TBGF: What's going on in your life right now? (Career, love, hobbies)
Nadia: I just graduated from college so I'm trying to enjoy my youth and free time as much as I can before I get my career started.
TBGF: Lastly, where can we stalk you?
Nadia: Instagram, Twitter, snapchat, depop: @ohnatia and
I hope you all like this feature! Nadia and I braved a thunderstorm to take these photos, but between the wind and great lighting (and chasing a tumbleweed) it was the best memory!
