My Red Lipstick Collection

Hey Fashionistas!

I have been meaning to post about my red lipstick collection for a while now, but due to my eczema flair ups it was difficult. Now that my skin is healed, I can now show you my favorite red lipsticks. These lipsticks are a range of drugstore to high end brands so if you are not willing to spend all of your dough on a lipstick, you are in luck! Also, don't forget to mention which are your favorites in the comment section below. Disclaimer: These are not all of my red lipsticks, but are my favorites.

First up is the Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lipstick in "Rebel Red"(What a mouthful btw). I LOVE the applicator for this lipstick! It applies so smoothly! Although it is not exactly matte, so if you are the type of person that cannot wear matte liquid lipsticks due to dry lips, then I recommend this one. It also has a nice scent, but it does not smell like anything in particular...just nice. (If that makes any sense.) It is a bright, fire engine red so if you are looking to brighten up your reds, than here ya go! Also, it is dangerously inexpensive...you've been warned.

Next up is the L'oreal Infallible Pro Matte Gloss in "Shanghai Scarlet". Just like the Maybelline lipstick, it has a great applicator! Although, this applicator is in a tear drop, ring shape. This lipstick is interesting because while it is a matte-ish formula, it is also a gloss. I am a matte fan (as you can tell) so I was skeptical of the word gloss in the title. This lipstick takes a couple minutes to really set on your lips so I was posing with some of it on my teeth. Oops! I love this shade of red because it has hint of orange which makes it so bright! Perfect for spring/summer! This is also from the drugstore (CVS) so stock up! I also bought a hot pink shade in "Aphrodite Kiss".

This Kat Von D lipstick in "Outlaw" dries so quickly! It is a true red shade so you cannot go wrong with this classic. This one is on the borderline of dry and soothing. I actually have never tried anything from Kat Von D because I am a creature of habit when it comes to brands. I received this in a kit (for a present), hence the sample size. I love it! It is always nearby when I am deciding on a lipstick. It's that good!

If you have been living under a rock, then I'll do a little introduction to this gem. Colourpop is the ultimate broke girl makeup brand! The quality is unbelievable especially because it is so inexpensive! Look at the size of the lipstick! You get so much product for such a small price. I know people that do not like the liquid lipsticks because it dries out their lips, and it is true. Tip: Slather on chapstick while doing your makeup, remove it afterwards and apply the lipstick. Apply chapstick if your lips dry out while you're wearing this brand. I really think this one is worth it, as you can tell in the photo because the logo came off from all of my uses (and being in my purse). Belle says hello!

Thank God for Sephora birthday freebees because it brought me to my ultimate favorite red lipstick...well pencil. The NARS "Cruella" is my go to red because it is just too easy to apply. It's the perfect red (for all seasons), the perfect formula and you get it for free on your birthday! I'm glad because my little sample is running out! If you do want to purchase the full size pencil, I'd say go for it because it is worth it. You'll never see me without it in my purse.

This MAC matte lipstick in "Diva" is my favorite dark red lipstick! I recycled my old containers and choose this shade to add to my collection. I was going to a 20s birthday party so I wanted a dark red. After that first swipe, it was love at first sight. The shade is unbeatable and I do have other dark reds. If you are looking to spice up your red collection, this is the way to go. You're welcome.

Don't make fun of my swatches! haha This was my first time photographing my swatches. Obviously, I need to use tape like everyone else. That is harder than it looks! I'm learning.
